Learner-Centered

My curiosity and love for education first led me to a fulfilling 13-year career in art education. During this time, I had the privilege of creating learning experiences for diverse groups, ranging from young children through adult learners. Collaborating with my students for over a decade has cultivated a strong sense of empathy and the ability to craft learner-centered courses and curriculum.

Creative Professional

As a creative professional, attending a master’s program was an invaluable opportunity that allowed me to deeply explore my skills in visual art and design. I received my master of fine arts degree in 2020. This experience honed my keen eye for detail and the ability to both provide and receive constructive feedback. My visual art and design skills also mirror my commitment to personal growth and learning, spanning various disciplines from drawing and sculpture to graphic design.

Business Insight

During my career in education, I founded and directed a summer program that united talented professionals with groups of passionate learners. Over seven years, this project management role allowed me to lead and support my team members, manage projects and resources, and use data to develop strategies for growth.

I embarked on my online business journey in 2022, with a focus on designing curriculum and eLearning resources. Drawing upon my extensive background in course and curriculum development, I've tailored many of my resources to focus on topics related to art education, suitable for both virtual and traditional classroom settings. Over my 13-year education career, I gained valuable insight into developing learner-centered experiences and using the ADDIE framework daily:

Analyzing learner needs and aligning them with standards
Designing and developing curriculum and courses
Implementing course delivery to learners
Evaluating the effectiveness of learning experiences, interpreting results, and strategizing for instructional improvement.

My immense passion for discovery and learning sparked a new stage in my career journey, leading me to the field of learning and development. With my master of fine arts degree and over a decade of experience in education, I now leverage my artistic background and instructional expertise to create eLearning resources that empower learners to reach their full potential. My approach draws on the principles of adult learning theory and visual design, resulting in engaging and appealing eLearning experiences.

Personal

When I’m not busy upskilling, I love spending time with my family, walking my dogs, and taking time to enjoy nature. I also enjoy working on my personal artwork and running a small freelance art business on the side.
